Born in Vientiane, Laos, Be Inthavong moved to America with his family at age 8 and grew up in the Texas suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth. Inthavong’s artistic skills presented early on, when at age 13, he handmade a train case for his mother because he couldn’t afford to buy her one from Louis Vuitton. Inthavong later felt a design calling and began sketching on the side while pursuing his academic career. 

Inthavong spent much of his time around his family’s weaving looms. As the women in their family have been weaving silk for over 100 years, Inthavong was encouraged by his aunt to also learn the craft of Lao silk textile and the art of silk handlooming.

Currently Be serves as Creative Director and Designer of Be Inthavong, LLC, a textile and women’s accessories company.  Inthavong debuted his first solo handbag collection sold exclusively at select Saks Fifth Avenue in the US and Middle East. Inthavong’s fabrics has been used for garments by brands such as Calvin Klein, Kiki De Monpartnasse and Bibhu Mohapatra. And for interiors, the signature fabric has been used as wall coverings, upholstery, head boards, drapes, amongst other in residential, yacht and airplanes.
